Carmen Ceniga Prado

Carmen Ceniga Prado

MA Fine Arts

Carmen uses her work as a medium to reconnect with the internal body and its cycles of subtle shapeshifting. Through abstract painting and carved wooden sculptures, her works grapple with the invisible but potent pulses of vitality that move through and around humans. Using the body as a starting point, Carmen's pieces are a reflection of the range of emotional states or embodies sensations, such a darkness, clarity and anxiety, as well as the moments in between.

Carmen is graduating with a MA Fine Arts from LASALLE College of the Arts. Having started her studies in Fine Arts at Pratt Institute, New York on a scholarship, she finished her BA Fine Arts at Wimbledon College of Arts, part of University of the Arts London. Her works have been exhibited in Germany, Spain, London and Singapore. Notable shows in Singapore include Structures from Silence at I_S_L_A_N_D_S in 2021, From the Beginning at Samata Soul in 2021 and At Dusk, We Tread the Earth at Starch SG in 2022.
