Elliott Tan
Elliott is graduating with a BA (Hons) Music degree, majoring in electronic music. Prior to her time in LASALLE College of the Arts, she studied music and audio technology at Singapore Polytechnic.
She has amassed over six years of experience in composition, arrangement, recording, production, mixing and mastering, performance and sound design. With these skill sets, she wishes to help artists realise their sonic ambitions and is keen to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
Elliott is also curious about cultural movements and is in the midst of researching postmodernism through her final year dissertation. She explores the shift in aesthetic trends and functions of music, through a Baudrillard-informed analysis of hyperpop.
Work
Elliott performs as a session bassist for local singer-songwriter Marian Carmel and has also accompanied other local artists like Shazza, aeriqah, jeyes and Houg on stage. She performs semi-improvised experimental music in ensembles for programmes such as CHOPPA Experimental Electronic Music Festival and Esplanade's In Youthful Company.
Elliott has also done sound design for Nurain Amin's short films – Psyche, Revived and A House Is Not A Home. She is currently working on Tofuhouse's animated short film Holding Your Hand in Public.
