Owenn Tan Jian Xiang
Owenn started off as a classical pianist, teaching students of all ages to play piano. After being inspired by jazz pianist Tay Cher Xiang, Owenn now experiments with different genres of music, such as pop, rock, jazz fusion and funk, hoping to pursue teaching part-time while following a career in the professional music production industry upon graduation.
Work
Owenn has participated in various music competitions, winning the Pearl River Digital Piano International Piano Competition in 2022 and listed as the Top 20 songwriters of SG:SW Mandopop Songwriting Festival 2022.
Since 2021, Owenn has been a music teacher with Ossia Music School and runs a douyin account called 欧文文呀, where he shares both original music and covers. He was also director of event management for the concert Underground at Permaisuri Zarith Sofiah Opera House.
