Daniel's stories have been shortlisted for The Bridport Prize, and longlisted for The Letter Review Prize. His writing has been published or forthcoming in Discovery Channel Magazine, Queen's Quarterly and the anthology Missed Connections: Microfiction from Asia. In 2023, he was invited to read his work at the Singapore Writer's Festival. He is graduating with a Masters in Creative Writing at LASALLE College of the Arts.

Thesis work

There’s Pleasure in Madness is a novel that blends historical and speculative fiction. Set in 1930s Singapore and 2030s England, the book explores the role of history and the ways in which conflict, from the Second World War to the climate crisis, shapes our lives. Weaving the narrative of a boy’s diary and the academic essay of a historian commenting on the diary as a found document, There’s Pleasure in Madness is, above all, a testimony to the power of storytelling.
