Thirishaa Selvaraj
Thirishaa is an artist based in Singapore who uses elements like sarees, rice powder and hair to connect shared experiences amongst Indian women, as well as heal her relationship with her mother.
Her works are an amalgamation of sculptural, installation based and performative pieces. Often inspired by Hinduism and Indian mythology, she aims to revive traditions and rituals while reframing the meanings behind them.
Thirishaa's perspective as an Indian woman frames her works, which surface and highlight issues and problems that Indian women encounter throughout their lives.
