Akanksha Raja is a writer and editor from Singapore. She is graduating with an MA in Creative Writing from LASALLE College of the Arts, where she developed a poetry collection shaped by meditative practices and the poetics of impermanence.

Her work has been published in the Quarterly Literary Review Singapore. She was formerly a staff writer and assistant editor for ArtsEquator, and continues to explore the intersections of art, memory and language.

Thesis work

Breathwork is a collection of poetry that explores meditation, impermanence and relationship between self and body. The poems emerge from experiences of grief, intergenerational trauma, and the search for authentic voice within inherited patterns of thought and behaviour. Moving between various states of consciousness and embodiment, through illness, insomnia and stillness, the poetic voice questions the boundaries of identity and perception. These poems chart a journey from an unstable identity towards a more authentic inhabitation of the self.
