Jameus Chow is an alto saxophonist and adept jazz improviser who has performed in a variety of settings, including musicals, second-line brass bands, live quartets, sextets and even nonets. He has composed original music for jazz quintets, big bands and art installations. Jameus counts great jazz musicians such as Cannonball Adderley and Hank Mobley as his role models, and is also deeply inspired by the music of Ray Charles, Snarky Puppy, Vulfpeck and Gustav Mahler.

Work

Jameus performed at Preamble, as part of The Living Composers Series, where he played alto saxophone together with Arthur Wiyono (acoustic bass) and Chan Yee Shen (piano) on an original piece Trio composed by Yee Shen. Jameus also took part in Summer School Improvise!, a five-day immersive experience in spontaneous sound-making and collective music-making.
