Rong Yi

Rong Yi may just be 19 years old, but he has an old soul. Inspired by local theatre productions, he is active in the industry as an actor, playwright and dramaturg. As an actor, Rong Yi trained in Chekhov, Meisner, and Viewpoints at Bold Moment Theatre, as well as comedic and long-form improvisation at The Improv Company. He wants to explore all aspects of actor training and understand what the future of theatre can hold.

In 2022, Rong Yi wrote and performed his own work with his peers We Got Make Theatre. When not in the theatre, you can find him playing live sessions as a guitarist and immersing himself in music. Rong Yi hopes to collaborate with performers of different backgrounds to create meaningful, playful work.
