Josiah P Kunaraz is a student from the Diploma in Audio Production programme at LASALLE College of the Arts specialising in live sound engineering and studio production. With a strong passion for music and audio technology, he has developed a solid foundation in sound design, signal flow and acoustics throughout his studies. Josiah enjoys working in both live and studio environments, where he combines technical precision with creativity to deliver high-quality audio experiences.
During his time at LASALLE, Josiah gained hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment, including mixing consoles such as the Yamaha CL5, DiGiCo SD9 and Avid S6L. He is proficient in digital audio workstations, particularly Pro Tools, and also has working knowledge of Logic Pro and Reaper. His skills include live sound mixing, stage setup, microphone placement, monitor mixing as well as studio recording, editing and mixing.
In addition to his academic work, Josiah has worked part-time as a live sound engineer, supporting events and collaborating with artists and technical teams to achieve the best possible sound quality. He has also been involved in several projects, including serving as stage manager for the Frass venue during LASALLE’s Rock and Indie Festival and system engineering for the extended play launch of the band Shinseina. One of his notable studio projects includes producing a metal track using the SSL Duality SE console.
Josiah aims to continue growing in the professional audio industry, contributing his technical skills, creativity and passion for sound to live productions and studio projects.
