Kayla Charissa Bernardo Baliwag
About
Kayla is an actor and performer graduating from the BA (Hons) Acting programme at LASALLE College of the Arts. Her work blends theatrical training, screen performance and a strong grounding in dance.
Having danced since the age of 12, Kayla's craft begins in the body, where she brings movement, texture and rhythm with voice and emotional depth to character. As a performer, she moves freely between drama and comedy, drawn to the precision of comedic timing just as much as the layered honesty of dramatic storytelling.
Though theatre remains a fundamental space for Kayla's exploration of presence, voice, bold character work and live connection, she also has a growing interest in the intimacies of film performance.
Notable works include 'Gracia' in Island Chalk Circle (LASALLE College of the Arts), 'Alaide' in Wedding Dress (LASALLE College of the Arts) and 'Mia Rose' in dance film Love, Theo (Weekend Playhouse). Kayla continues to hone her craft in dance, theatre and film, drawn to any platform that allows her to reflect life, bring together communities and challenge thoughts, through sincerity, commitment and authenticity.
