Girl Up & The Somatic and Linguistic Cartographies of Singaporean Girlhood
Girl Up consists of three stories about three young Singaporean girls growing up in the 1990s-early 2000s.
It shows a glimpse of what it was like growing up Singaporean Chinese with grandparents who do not share the same language, the childhood loneliness of a single child left to her own devices as she wanders the internet unsupervised as well as a young teen's struggles with her body as she experiences puberty.
It discusses the somatic trauma experienced by the young women and how they survive by deploy non-standard linguistic practices to carve out spaces of domestic autonomy and reclaim bodily agency.

She is passionate about telling stories made for the local audience. She strongly believes that there are still many Singaporean voices and stories waiting to be told and explored.
