About
Florence adores Japanese authors and has a snaking queue of Japanese novels fighting to be read. She hopes to read these texts in the original Japanese someday.
As a non-conformist who is graduating with an MA Creative Writing from LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore, she is fascinated by experiences that are far from mainstream, as they are often a fertile source for stories.
Her works draw inspiration from her daily encounters, and are published in SAMPAN 4: The LASALLE Anthology of Creative Writing (2025) and Voyage: A Literary Journal Issue 02.
The Godmother & Truth Be Told
The featured stories present individuals who struggle with their family circumstances, particularly over an upbringing they were opposed to. Refusing to be defeated, they endeavour to explore various means within their control to overcome the uncontrollable.
Whether through constructive rage spurred on by a green dress, or the power of the pen, these stories tell of individuals who are undeterred in their pursuits as they journey towards breaking free from the parental chains that once bound them.
