About

Born and based in Singapore, Brayden is a classically trained pianist who is passionate about wind band music and virtuosic piano performance.

He began lessons at the age of three and has always been interested in the technical aspect of piano playing. Brayden's passion for piano took off at the age of 15, when he was in his secondary school's concert band and was introduced to marches by his best friend. At LASALLE College of the Arts, he was under the tutelage of Mr Clarence Lee.

Deeply inspired by the styles of Sergei Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich, Brayden believes that classical music should not only be about following the score but about expressing oneself through music as a vessel of the heart. He composes wind band music and regularly performs in various wind bands as a euphonium player.

Brayden is deeply interested in writing melodies and believes a good melody to be one that is simple, easy to sing and stays in listeners' heads for days. He is mainly influenced by composers such as Valery Khalilov, Franz Lehar, Paul Lincke and John Philip Sousa.
