About
Parnika is a BA (Hons) Fashion Design and Textiles graduate who specialises in sustainability and the evolving landscape of Indian fashion. She focuses on creating garments that are contemporary yet culturally rooted, balancing innovation with functionality. She enjoys pattern making and draping, using these skills to explore form, structure, and fluidity while developing thoughtful, well-constructed pieces.
Parnika is especially interested in reinterpreting traditional Indian textiles and silhouettes to connect younger generations to their cultural heritage. She investigated how to minimise fabric waste while retaining refined silhouettes. Thoughtful draping and garment architecture enable movement and organic forms, translating concepts into designs that are both expressive and wearable.
Parnika's goal is to contribute to a more sustainable and conscious fashion industry with work that values craftsmanship, longevity and identity. She aims to foster environments where creativity and responsible design shape the future of Indian fashion.

Parnika's final year project explores the reinvention of traditional Indian silhouettes through a contemporary and sustainable lens, with a strong focus on draping, pattern making and fluid design.
Inspired by femininity, movement, and the emotional connection between clothing and identity, the collection aims to bridge the gap between younger generations and Indian cultural heritage. By reinterpreting garments like the sari into modern, wearable forms, the project creates designs that feel relevant, elegant and functional for today’s lifestyle.
The creation process reduces waste through thoughtful construction, fewer seams and conscious pattern development while maintaining soft forms and flowing silhouettes.
Combining craftsmanship with innovation, this collection reflects a balance of tradition and modernity, celebrating sustainability, individuality and the future growth of Indian fashion.
