Yu Tong (also known as SOLYU) is a maximalist fashion designer and stylist. Specialising in creative fashion cutting, she loves playing with expressive colours and silhouettes and layering bold pieces. Motivated by the dynamic meeting point of femininity and masculinity, her work blends her roots in Chinese culture and beliefs with contemporary influences from Harajuku and grunge subcultures.
Bubbly and playful, she brings traditional techniques like Chinese knotting into visually rich, expressive looks that feel vibrant and full of character. Curious about what the far future might hold, she often finds inspiration in her lucid dreams—imaginative visions that spark new ideas and fuel her creative exploration.

By the year 3100, a massive lack of cultural identity will define the world as centuries of erosion diminish Chinese culture into fragments.
Who knows what humans will evolve into? Perhaps humanoids with memories replaced by technology?
In such a future, even language and cultural identity could be lost. REBIRTH responds to this possibility by reviving Chinese cultural memory through mythology, ensuring that these narratives endure a thousand years from now. Inspired by the myth of Ne Zha, the defiant spirit who remade his own destiny, the collection reinterprets Chinese mythology not as a relic of the past, but as a tool for envisioning the rebuild of future identities.
This is a speculative fashion collection that explores self-renewal, cultural re-memory and humanity's innate fire that shapes their identity.
