Syafizan Rasid

Syafizan Rasid (Fizan) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work focuses on storytelling. She is a singer-songwriter, music producer and audio engineer.

As a music maker, she pays attention to every step of the process—from audio engineering in the studio to mixing and mastering in post-production. Her music conveys honesty and emotional vulnerability through poetry and melody.

When Fizan first started writing and composing, she taught herself music production through YouTube tutorials. She then took on the Diploma in Audio Production programme at LASALLE College of the Arts to further improve her technical skills in audio production. At LASALLE, she was able to challenge herself as an audio engineer and develop skills to sustain her career in music production.

Besides her studies, she actively involves herself in volunteering opportunities and values connection. Through networking and connections with other artists, she was able to find collaboration opportunities that benefited her as an artist. Hearing their stories, passions and ambitions inspired her to dream of creating an inclusive community of music makers. Fizan hopes to keep making music that inspires others and to commit herself to spreading the importance of community and collaboration in the music scene.
