About

Through her journey, she has developed an approach that emphasises both effectiveness and safety, using metaphors as a key tool for engaging with clients.
Using fictional characters in art therapy: A qualitative inquiry with adults at a psychiatric rehabilitation centre in Singapore
The aim of this qualitative, practitioner-based thesis was to comprehensively explore the use of fictional characters in individual art therapy with adults in a mental health rehabilitation centre in Singapore.
This thesis discusses further literature about mental health, art therapy and psychodynamic theories in conjunction with two case studies presented. The emergence of fictional characters, which is subjective to individuals depending on their own lived experiences, was demonstrated in the fictional characters drawn.
This thesis also provides a glimpse into how an art therapist might navigate through these distinct creative processes in therapeutic relationships with clients.
Geulem's
The portrayal of Geulem's is inspired by my personal form of self-care. Geulem was made from scratch, initially created to promote mental wellness, and now has the privilege to do so for art therapy.
