About
Kashish Malani is a graduating student of the BA (Hons) Fashion Media and Industries programme at LASALLE College of the Arts.
Her practice is shaped by both academic training and hands-on industry experience, with a specialisation in fashion media and brand-focused projects.
Her industry experience has strengthened her ability to create content that is both visually compelling and strategically grounded, whether through digital media production, brand storytelling or collaborative projects.
Alongside this, she has developed a growing interest in fashion editorial and journalism, particularly writing and publishing work that explores trends, identity and cultural narratives within the industry. She is especially drawn to these platforms as spaces for critical engagement, where research and observation can be translated to thoughtful, audience-driven content.
With skill sets spanning visual communication, trend analysis and brand strategy, she is interested in contributing to forward-thinking and sustainable fashion initiatives. She continues to refine her voice across both creative and editorial formats, with the goal of producing work that is not only relevant, but also impactful within the evolving fashion media landscape.
BUNA is a hybrid fashion-driven publication that reimagines Indian handloom for Gen Z by translating textile craft into contemporary fashion imagery that celebrates artisanship as living culture. Each issue focuses on a different Indian state’s textile traditions, beginning with Bengal handlooms.
The magazine is divided into three sections: 'The Artisan', which tells stories of artisans, their techniques and struggle; 'The Fabric', which serves as a visual and material study, showcasing the distinctive weaves, motifs and textures of Indian handlooms from the state featured in each issue; and 'The Future Form', which presents these handlooms as aspirational through contemporary draping and editorial styling.
