About

Chaewon is a graduating student from LASALLE’s BA (Hons) Design Communication programme who specialises in UI/UX design, focusing on how interface structures influence user behaviour, perception, and decision-making.

With a particular interest in user behaviour and interaction design, she develops interfaces that go beyond aesthetics, aiming to create clear and purposeful user experiences. She approaches design as a system—considering how each element guides users through a flow, shapes their decisions, and ultimately impacts their actions. Her approach is grounded in critically identifying problems and navigating toward practical, effective solutions, balancing analytical thinking with strong visual execution.

During her internship at a fintech startup, Chaewon contributed to revamping the overall platform experience. She was involved in product design across multiple stages, from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity interfaces, taking ownership of key features within the product. In addition, she supported the design of the company’s promotional website, helping to communicate the product more effectively to external audiences.

Moving forward, Chaewon aims to grow as a UI/UX designer who contributes to meaningful problem-solving through design. She is particularly interested in creating interfaces that not only function efficiently, but also encourage more thoughtful and informed user behaviour within digital environments.

Balance

Balance is an iOS built-in application that provides a space for reflection for users who tend to engage in impulsive online shopping. It is designed to help users become more aware of their spending behaviour and encourage more mindful consumption.

The application features three key functions: a spending report that visualises purchasing patterns, a spending diary that allows users to record and reflect on their decisions, and Mindful Shield, a system that intervenes during high-pressure moments to reduce impulsive actions.
