Kakis Kaypoh @ Kukoh
Kakis Kaypoh @ Kukoh is a residential interior intervention located along Jalan Kukoh, designed to enhance the living experience of the lower income residents through a focus on communal engagement and spatial efficiency.
Inspired by the idea of 'kakis kaypoh', which reflects curiosity and social interaction within a neighbourhood, the project introduces a series of interconnected spaces that encourage visual and social connectivity while maintaining necessary privacy.

Emphasising communal spaces, natural lighting and ventilation, as well as micro-living strategies, the design reimagines compact residential living by maximising spatial functionality and environmental comfort.
Through the use of permeable elements, layered layouts and light-enhancing materials, the project fosters a breathable and inclusive environment that supports both everyday interactions and individual retreat, ultimately creating a more connected and adaptable urban living experience for the residents of Jalan Kukoh.

Built on a flexible, modular system, the furniture can be mixed and matched to adapt to diverse living requirements. Alongside this, three curated unit designs are presented, each responding to the needs of distinct resident groups as considered design propositions.

Furniture modules are multifunctional furnitures designed to maximise space efficiency. Each piece is thoughtfully created to serve multiple purposes, offering practical solutions for modern, compact living environments.
