This projects reimagines Singapore’s ageing public housing by reviving kampong spirit through a five-level vertical community, integrating healthcare, social dining, urban farming, craft, cultural spaces and co-living to counter urban isolation.
By layering care, creativity and shared memory, the design fosters intergenerational interaction and sense of belonging.
Kampong Vertikal demonstrates how spaces can restore social bonds, nurture resilience and sustain collective identity within dense urban environments in the context of Singapore today.
