Makan Village
In response to school mergers due to decline in enrollment, Makan Village repurposes Eunos Primary School into an elderly-initiated learning centre.
Addressing elderly isolation, it promotes active and independent ageing through social dining and food-based programmes and intergenerational sharing programmes.
Dynamic layered spaces, open circulation and participatory environments foster interaction with the wider community, reintroducing communal kitchens and dining while reviving the spirit of a kampung in a contemporary urban setting.
