Marc Jian-Ming Monteiro

Starting drums at the age of four, Marc quickly developed a deep passion for rhythm and performance.

Influenced by the powerful styles of Dominic Howard (Muse), Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Tatsuya Amano (Crossfaith, YOASOBI), Tomoya Kanki (ONE OK ROCK), Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan (Avenged Sevenfold), and II (Sleep Token), his drumming blends technical precision with raw energy and emotion.

Over the years, Marc has honed a dynamic and versatile style, specialising in pop, rock, metal and punk. Whether laying down tight grooves or delivering explosive fills, his playing is driven by a deep respect for the craft and a desire to push musical boundaries. With a commanding stage presence and a sound that cuts through with intensity, Marc brings both heart and fire to every performance.

A fun fact: he is the younger cousin of Singapore’s “King of Swing,” Jeremy Monteiro. Marc has performed with a wide range of bands, including The Next Exit, Lies Upon Death, Lost Echo, Minimum Wage, hightides, Pocketful of Shells and SEER. He is also an active session musician, working with artists such as IAMfrances, Bear The Remedy, Zackfire, The Storms Upon Us, Heema Izzati, Sarah Syazlina, CTRL Chaos, Charis and LUCKYYOU.

His performance credits include River Hongbao 2025, Mariya Aiza Live at the Esplanade, and Force Majeure (Pangdemonium). He has also opened for acts like Wormrot, Heaven Brought Me Hell, Last Minute, DUKES, Hijack Hailey, Taledrops, 10pm Noise Complaint, Iman’s League and Vektor.
