Nur Husna Zulyadain is a Singapore-based fashion communication practitioner whose work explores memory, material culture and emotional storytelling through image-making, film and publication design.

Her practice is rooted in the belief that fashion extends beyond aesthetics, functioning as a vessel for identity, remembrance and human connection.

Working across still-life photography, moving image and archival storytelling, Husna is interested in how everyday objects quietly preserve the presence of the people who shape us. Her visual approach centres around restraint, atmosphere and subtle gestures, often focusing on small details as a way of communicating emotion without spectacle.

Through her practice, Husna hopes to create spaces that encourage reflection and emotional connection, while expanding the possibilities of fashion communication as a medium for intimacy, care and collective storytelling.

Something From You To Me

Something From You To Me is a fashion-communication publication that explores how objects embody the presence of those we love.

Anchored by a deeply personal starting point—Husna's late father’s wedding jacket—the project expands into a collective archive of stories, examining how memory, lost and identity are preserved through everyday items such as clothing, scent and personal belongings.

Through a combination of still-life imagery, portraiture, interviews and a short film, the publication treats objects not as passive items, but as living archives that hold traces of time, care and relationships.

Influenced by thinkers like Roland Barthes and visual practitioners such as Katerina Jebb and Sophie Calle, the work focuses on subtle details and quiet gestures to evoke emotional presence.

Rather than presenting loss as something to overcome, this project reframes it as something ongoing. It is expressed through the ways we carry people with us in our daily lives. By bringing together multiple voices, Something From You To Me becomes a shared space for reflection, offering a more intimate and collective perspective on memory and living with absence.
