About
Wang Yijia is currently pursuing the BA (Hons) Fashion Media and Industries programme at LASALLE College of the Arts, where she has developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling, composition and post-production techniques.
Her experience as a freelance photographer has enabled her to work closely with clients, capturing high-quality images tailored to distinct brand identities. With a background in fine arts, she has an enhanced ability to create compelling and aesthetically refined visuals.
In her projects, she conceptualises and executes shoots from start to finish—curating mood boards, storyboarding, and ensuring that every image comes together to form a compelling narrative. Yijia has experience working both in front of and behind the camera, allowing her to understand the creative process from multiple perspectives.
She also has experience with modelling, which has given her valuable insights into photographic direction, composition and visual storytelling. This dual perspective allows her to communicate effectively with models, ensuring a seamless collaboration that results in compelling and visually striking imagery.
Fashion film The few | 少数人 explores the intersection of tea culture and women from ethnic groups in Yunnan through a fashion lens.
It reimagines their roles as inheritors and custodians of tea and ethnic culture, where tea trees and rituals act as guardians of heritage.
Through this, alternative narratives of female agency within contemporary visual culture are revealed.
