About

Izza, known also as NIBR, is a fashion designer whose work explores the intersection of modernity and modesty. She reinterprets cultural identity through contemporary and experimental approaches, positioning modestwear as a space for both innovation and self-expression. Her design philosophy centres on the idea that modesty is not limiting but empowering, allowing garments to embody both protection and presence.

Drawing strong influence from architecture, particularly modern brutalism, NIBR translates structural forms, spatial awareness and materiality into design. Clean lines, intentional silhouettes and a balance between rigidity and fluidity define her aesthetic, reflecting the complexities of identity in a modern context. Izza's work often communicates a quiet strength where garments are not only worn but also experienced.

Izza's creative process is deeply rooted in research and observation. From exploring art and cultural spaces to engaging with digital platforms and evolving global trends, she continuously gathers inspiration that informs her design direction. This allows her to create work that feels both relevant and conceptually grounded.

Through her brand BY NIBR, she aims to challenge conventional perceptions of modest fashion by positioning it as progressive, design-led and enduring. Her vision is to create garments that resonate culturally while pushing boundaries, offering a new narrative for modestwear that is refined, contemporary and meaningful in today’s fashion landscape.

Fashioning Modesty for a changing world.

In today’s fashion industry, particularly in Singapore and Southeast Asia, there is a clear gap between quality, taste and sustainability in modestwear-friendly garments. Many options are either mass-produced and unsustainably trend-driven, or modest to the point of lacking contemporary design. This creates a disconnect for younger, culturally conscious consumers who want to see modestwear integrate sustainability meaningfully.

ModestScape by BY NIBR addresses this gap by combining contemporary design with modestwear functionality and sustainable material choices. By sourcing fabrics from local Singapore shops, the collection responds not only to cultural needs, but also to the region’s tropical climate and environmental concerns. It proposes a new direction where modestwear is not limiting but forward-thinking, expressive and regionally grounded.

ModestScape pushes fluid tension between fabric and form. Soft folds echo the movement of a Muslimah's hijab wraps, while brutalist architectural lines ground the garments in strength and structure. Modesty is able to be both shelter and expression.

Through this, NIBR establishes a brand that moves beyond collections and seasonal trends towards a more enduring design language.

In folds of fabric, a quiet language forms;
Soft yet certain, like walls that hold a home.

ModestScape lives in this in-between
where cloth meets concrete
and identity takes shape.
