Rozalita Sahetapy
About
Rozalita is a multidisciplinary artist based in Singapore, working across mixed media, graphic novel illustration and sculptural forms. Her practice is shaped by personal experiences, often exploring themes of internal conflict and self-perception through a reflective and introspective lens.
During her time at LASALLE College of the Arts, she has presented her work in various exhibitions, including a material and craft studies exhibition at the Ngee Ann Kongsi Library foyer (2024) and Two 2 Six (2025).
Working fluidly between 2D and 3D mediums, Rozalita creates visual narratives drawn from her immediate world, including family, friendships and everyday encounters. Her process translates these observations into expressive forms, using storytelling to reflect on her surroundings.
While her current practice is centred on expression, Rozalita has developed a growing interest in scientific fields, particularly astrophysics, and is beginning to explore how these ideas might inform her work. Building on her background in graphic novel illustration, she hopes to expand into animation, bringing her experience in storyboarding and character design into the industry.
Rozalita's approach to making remains intuitive and open-ended, guided by experimentation and a willingness to evolve her practice over time.
Plans After Graduation?
Plans After Graduation? focuses on the uncertainty and unpredictability of the future.
Taking references from black holes, the space time continuum, string theory and the theoretical worm hole, the work reflects on the parallels between scientific theories and and the unknowns that still exist within the foundations of life itself.
This installation aims to bridge complex astrophysical topics into an art form that relates to a more emotional side of the representation of life.
