Val Lim

Val Lim is an emerging audio engineer graduating from the Diploma in Audio Production programme at LASALLE College of the Arts. With a strong interest in recording and live production, Val has developed practical experience across studio recording, live events and multimedia production through academic projects and industry work.

During her studies, Val gained hands-on experience working in professional studio environments, operating large-format consoles and managing signal flow between microphones, instruments and recording systems. Her work has included recording classical instruments and collaborating with music performance students, focusing on capturing natural acoustic detail while maintaining technical precision.

Val's time at LASALLE reinforced the importance of balancing technical knowledge with creativity. This philosophy shapes her approach to audio engineering, combining a strong understanding of audio systems with creative problem-solving to support artists and productions effectively.

Alongside her technical work, Val founded the student-run Diploma in Audio Production Instagram page, creating a platform for current and future audio engineering students to share experiences, showcase projects and build a stronger community within the programme.

Beyond school, Val has also worked on live productions and events, supporting technical teams and assisting with audio setups at venues such as Marina Bay Sands. Val hopes to continue growing as an audio engineer in professional production environments while contributing to collaborative creative projects.
