This project promotes the Analogue Pocket as a modern reinterpretation of the handheld game console that allows users to explore the golden era of handheld gaming in the truest way possible, while benefitting from today’s cutting-edge technological and hardware advancements.

The project combines retro-inspired visual elements with contrasting linework, wireframes and sleek 3D renders of the product and its accessories, positioning the Pocket as a product rooted in the past but designed for the future.

This was project was developed by four people, including Cheu Yean who was responsible for the GUI particle effects as well as composing and lighting his designated scenes. He also 3D modelled the cartridges used in the video.

SPCA Rebranding

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is often perceived as a place where people abandon unwanted pets. Many view the organisation as dumping ground for animals when their owners are no longer willing or are able to care for them. Additionally, SPCA lacks a cohesive brand image online, with an inconsistent visual presence across platforms such as Instagram and YouTube.

In response to this, this project aimed to create a family-friendly and approachable brand image for SPCA. This informed a hand-drawn logo design to make the brand appear more friendly, alongside a pet mascot to enhance this approach.

As part of the project's multisensory advertisement approach, an automated photo booth kiosk was proposed. When a visitor performs a hugging gesture in front of the kiosk, a photograph is captured and later printed as a Polaroid featuring their image.

Channel Rebranding

This project involved creating a new channel animation for the YouTube channel Abroad in Japan, hosted by Chris Broad, who explores travelling in Japan through a distinct British television style, often incorporating sarcastic jokes in his videos.

The aim of the project was to to establish his identity as a Japanse travel vlog at first glance through the use of Japanese-inspired graphic styles. In doing so, the project aims to attract viewers interested in visiting Japan, supporting the growth of the channel.

The design retained the channel's original colour palette while introducing graphical elements that are associated with Japanese design. A collegiate-style animation was also incorporated to inject Western influences into the work, reflecting the main presenter's English background.
