The Twin Twist

This project investigates how twins navigating early adulthood disrupt stereotypical expectations towards twinship: being either mirror images of each other or complete opposites.

Using glitch art and symbolism to visualise this disruption, the lived experiences of twins twist current narratives. Through the unexpected nature of twins, identity is highlighted as an ongoing process of mutual shaping, revealing how their interconnected personalities are resistant to fixed categorisation.

This project calls for more fluid and humanistic understandings towards the complexities of twinship, balancing individuality through self-expression as living glitches among us.

TWIN TYPE: A collection of posters that visualise the dynamic personalities of twins through typography and glitch art. By using data bending and striking complimentary colours, these stir up a realisation of the complexities of twins and their unexpected nature, like living glitches.

TWIN TYPICALS: A photobook that situates twins alongside 'everyday twins', objects that operate as pairs that work on their own but are even better together. A pair of hands can flip through half of the book but two pairs are required to experience the narrative in its full, symbolising twin realities.
