Reworking Crochet uses participatory methods to provoke engagement for feminist discourse amongst diverse Singaporean youths aged 18 to 29.
By reframing crochet, a craft often stereotyped as feminine, as an all-are-welcome medium and entry point for sociopolitical engagement, specifically for politically cautious Singaporeans, it empowers youths to be awakened to the need to advocate for social change and to push back against stifling gendered norms in Singapore.
