Alive Enough explores the evolving role of AI in social and emotional spaces, where systems are increasingly used not just as tools, but as companions.

As interactions with AI begin to feel personal and responsive, this project questions why these exchanges can carry emotional weight despite the absence of real understanding.

Through the development of a responsive soft toy companion, it investigates how perception, familiarity, and behaviour shape the experience of connection. It aims to provoke reflection on how we relate to machines, and what it means when something artificial begins to feel socially present.
