Interwoven Tapestry

Interwoven Tapestry reconstructs elderly living typology, allowing seniors to experience a second 'family' in their later years.

Situated in the last remaining kampung in Singapore, Interwoven Tapestry injects the kampung spirit of communal living into Kampung Lorong Buangkok, now a heavily guarded and individualistic community.

Communal kitchens, shared bicycle 'workshops', individual open spaces that cross boundaries form shared courtyards—like a loom, these programmes weave the new and the existing into a singular 'tapestry' establishing a new social fabric in Kampung Lorong Buangkok.
