About
Xuchu has been involved in interior design for 20 years, with experience in designing hotels, offices, residential and commercial spaces, as well as hands-on construction experience.
He has researched the use of artificial intelligence in interior design, utilising game engines as auxiliary tools to enhance communication with clients during the initial design stages. The practical application of artificial intelligence in specific interior design processes has also allowed for greater creative flexibility.
The Jalan Besar Art-Loom Verandah proposes a radical spatial intervention through the strategic removal of the third-floor slab of Block 807, creating a vertically extended sensory realm.
Beyond serving as a venue for art exhibitions and social interactions, the core identity of the space is defined as a community arts education hub.
By hosting regular public welfare painting workshops and musical instrument training, the space transforms into a 'shared studio' for the neighbourhood. It aims to foster deep emotional bonds among residents through skill-sharing, positioning art as a vital remedy for urban alienation.
