Salus Marine

Salus Marine is an unmanned surface vehicle (USV) designed to support beach patrol officers in monitoring and safeguarding public coastal areas.

While major maritime authorities such as the Marine Port Authority, Police Coast Guard, Singapore Civil Defence Force, and the Singapore Navy actively utilise unmanned marine vehicles in their operations, beach patrol officers remain largely underserved by technological solutions.

Addressing this gap, Salus Marine leverages computer vision to autonomously detect potential threats, including hazardous marine life such as jellyfish and sharks, as well as identify swimmers in distress. Upon detection, the system alerts relevant authorities in real time, enabling faster and more informed responses.

Beyond surveillance, the vehicle functions as an immediate safety aid by acting as a visible marker and flotation support for individuals in distress, providing temporary assistance until rescue teams arrive. Designed for continuous operation, Salus Marine is equipped with solar panels to recharge its batteries, allowing for persistent, 24/7 monitoring of dynamic coastal areas.
