BA (Hons) Product Design

Muhammad Hakeem Bin Hussain

About

Hakeem enjoys designing to solve problems and fulfil the visions of people who don't know how to do so.

He believes in the tenet of communitarianism that we as people have a duty to help each other in the ways that we can. The way that he can help others is by creating products that make their life better.

During his time at LASALLE, Hakeem has learnt that in design, one cannot create anything new without taking risks. The knowledge and wisdom one has attained through experience might enable us to calculate risks but the steps into the unknown still require bravery. Failure is not the worst thing; the worst is never trying.

As an individual, Hakeem has his own consultancy service in 3D modelling, 3D printing, making use of carpentry and leather-work.

The Chest of Holding

In Use

A character organisational system used in the game Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), the Chest of Holding was created to encourage players to play D&D in person with their peers.

Currently, many players resort to playing online due to scheduling conflicts or relative ease. However, this sacrifices a core component of the play experience: the interaction.

One of the issues preventing live sessions is the impracticality of certain aspects such as the character sheet, which is what players use to understand the necessary details about the character they are role-playing. Thus, the idea to replace character sheets was born.

The Chest holds the necessary tools and mechanisms needed to keep track of a player's resources in a more practical manner and with greater haptic interaction.
