Emotions Made Visible

As emotional expression is often restrained or difficult to articulate, Emotions Made Visible investigates how generative visuals can translate emotional cues into dynamic behaviours of colour, motion and form.

Rather than diagnosing or resolving emotions, the project presents interactive artefacts as speculative tools for reflection and critique. It imagines a near-future where emotional data is collected at scale and made easily accessible to others. Audiences are invited to question whether emotional visibility might deepen empathy and self-awareness, or complicates privacy, interpretation and human relationships in a data-driven society.

Posture Protractor

Image
Posture Protractor concept video. Directed and filmed by Syafiq Shukor. Edited by Ethel Lim. Animated by Rene Teh. Assisted by Charlene Chandra.

This is a collaborative project with Charlene Chandra, Ethel Lim and Rene Teh, designed to address the silent yet widespread issue of bad posture among young working individuals.

In today’s screen-heavy lifestyles, poor posture often goes unnoticed—until discomfort or long-term health issues arise.

Posture Protractor is a playful yet practical tool that discreetly measures posture from a distance. Whether slouched over laptops or hunched in cafés, it turns everyday slouching into moments of reflection.

By blending humour with function, the project raises awareness about posture and encouraging everyone to be mindful and pick up healthier habits in a productivity-driven generation.

Survival Strategies

Image

Survival Strategies concept video. Directed, filmed and edited by Chiang Wen Soon.

This is a collaborative project with Chiang Wen Soon and Janessa Aw, designed to make Singapore’s natural biodiversity heritage more engaging, accessible and personal for youth audiences.

While SIGNIFY's rich, data-driven archive of specimens serves the scientific community, its highly specialised nature can feel distant for the general public. Survival Strategies bridges this gap through an interactive exhibition powered by hand gestures and facial recognition—transforming complex ecological data into intuitive, real-time experiences.

By seeing, moving, and discovering, users do not just learn about nature—they connect with it in a way that feels instinctive and alive.
