About

Fuqi is a product designer with a strong interest in user-centred design, material exploration and meaningful product experiences.

She is especially drawn to minimal, quiet and carefully considered design languages. Her approach combines analytical thinking with sensitivity to proportion, detail and user experience.

Her practice focuses on understanding how people interact with objects, spaces and daily routines, then translating those insights into thoughtful design solutions that balance function, aesthetics and emotional value.

Through her design education and industry experience, Fuqi has developed skills in research, concept development, 3D modelling, 2D CAD drawing, prototyping, rendering and designing for manufacturing. Her work explores the relationship between form, material, ergonomics and behaviour, with a focus on creating products that feel intentional, practical and visually refined.

As an emerging designer, Fuqi aims to continue creating products that support everyday life in thoughtful ways, while building a practice grounded in clarity, empathy, craftsmanship and strong design decision-making.

NORO MODU: A cat-centred adaptive grooming system

NORO MODU is a cat-centred adaptive grooming and rest system designed to support feline self-maintenance, movement and everyday comfort within the home.

Responding to the issue of unnecessary cat bathing, the project offers a calmer alternative that respects a cat’s natural grooming instincts and need for agency.

Through modular wall-mounted forms, thermoformed felt surfaces and removable washable grooming inserts, NORO MODU allows cats to engage with the product voluntarily while supporting hygiene, rest and spatial enrichment in a way that feels refined, functional and suitable for modern interiors.

Designed to reduce habituation, NORO MODU can be reconfigured into different layouts to keep the system engaging over time. Each module can be rotated and rearranged, allowing owners to refresh the cat’s environment and respond to changing behaviours, preferences and spatial needs. This flexibility helps encourage continued use by offering new routes for movement, rest, exploration and interaction.
