About
Xue Ping is passionate about spatial design, with a strong interest in creating meaningful and experiential environments.
Inspired by nature, culture and everyday interactions, she explores how spaces can bring people together.
She believes design goes beyond function, and aims to create atmospheres that evoke emotion, connection and a sense of belonging.
This project reimagines the daily act of placing potted plants along residential corridors as an opportunity to cultivate shared spaces that reconnect people with nature.
It proposes a communal gardening system where residents can grow, learn and interact, transforming individual routines into collective experiences that encourage participation, care and stronger social bonds.
Anchored by a kopitiam, a familiar gathering space within the local context, the design vertically organises planting areas above dining zones to establish a farm-to-table environment. Here, food is cultivated, prepared and enjoyed within a continuous spatial system, promoting interaction and knowledge exchange.
The project ultimately fosters deeper relationships between residents, food practices and the natural environment.
