About
Nathania is a Diploma in Interior Design graduate with a strong interest in spatial design, shaped by her creative pursuits and close observation of everyday environments.
She approaches design as more than just visual composition or structural arrangement, exploring how spaces evolve through interaction, storytelling and community engagement. Her work reflects a sensitivity to how people move, feel and connect within a space, with an emphasis on comfort and usability.
With a keen interest in materiality, Nathania investigates how textures, finishes and tactile qualities contribute to atmosphere and user experience. She thoughtfully considers how materials can influence mood, perception and behaviour, creating environments that feel intuitive, engaging and welcoming.
Through her design process, she aims to balance creativity with practicality, crafting spaces that are not only aesthetically considered but also meaningful and responsive to the needs of their users.
The site reveals how daily activities extend into the surrounding walkways, where workers often rest. This reflects how waste accumulation in Singapore is shaped by urban density and the overlap of movement, work and shared space.
The project transforms this condition into an opportunity for community learning and engagement. It reimagines the surrounding walkways as a shared community hub, where waste transforms into a resource for learning and connection.
Shared pathways become a hub for repair, crafting and creative reuse, supported by waste drop-off points where nearby residents and shops contribute repairable items for collection, repair and upcycling.
As people move through the space, they engage with materials, gain practical skills and strengthen social ties within an active third space for exchange.
