Fluctuating Rhythm reimagines a space in Jalan Besar as a community hub of music, movement and play.
While the area has a rich culture and bustling street life, it lacks spaces where residents can relax and connect through art.
The design is inspired by the idea of fluctuation, expressing the rhythm of sound and people’s activities through changing forms. Developed from an existing dance studio, the project includes spaces for dance, performance and movie viewing, as well as areas for rest and social use.
The space is open and flexible, allowing people of different ages to meet, interact and enjoy activities together, bringing music and art into daily life.
